Lara Macri

Lara is a professional harpist based in Oslo, known for her versatile musical talents. She excels as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra player, captivating audiences throughout Europe. Additionally, Lara is a dedicated harp teacher and currently serves as the assistant to Professor Isabelle Perrin at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

In 2023, Lara made her soloist debut in Norway, performing the Reinhold Gliere harp concerto with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. She also partecipated as soloist at the Stavanger and Gothenburg harp festivals.

Lara is in high demand as an orchestra player, collaborating with prestigious ensembles such as the Oslo Philharmonic, Norwegian Opera & Ballet, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Stockholm, and others. Her talent was recognized when she was appointed principal harpist of the Tiroler Landstheater Innsbruck orchestra for the 2019/2020 season. Earlier, she successfully won harp internship positions with the Staatsorchester Braunschweig, Göttinger Symphonie Orchester, and Bochumer Symphoniker in Germany.

Lara's musical journey includes studies in Italy with Patrizia Tassini and in Germany with Fabiana Trani, obtaining both bachelor and master's degrees. She recently completed the prestigious Master Diplom program in Isabelle Perrin's harp class at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

In 2021, Lara's talent stood out among 400 candidates in the "soloists" category of the Cadenza Contest 2.0, earning her a place in the final round.

Her passion for contemporary music led her to record pieces by Marco Podda for solo harp and ensemble in 2015. This recording, released by the discographic label TACTUS, features world premiere performances.

Lara is engaged in exploring new horizons and has recorded the experimental music by Andrea Giordano with the Àlea ensemble. New album is coming soon, released by SOFA MUSIC 2024.
